Enhanced Care Coordination

Laurel Prevett joined SCBS as a Care Coordinator in March 2024. She graduated in July 2018 with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Laurel is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and works at Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska: WIC, as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. Her personal story of struggles, triumphs, and growth inspires her to help and guide others through empowerment, connection, and advocacy. Laurel enjoys collaborating with and serving her community. Outside of work, Laurel loves spending time with family, hiking, camping, and all things outdoors, cooking, playing the piano, and dancing to music in the kitchen.

Kathy Shueey was born and raised in Hastings, NE and graduated from Central Community College in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Kathy has a diverse background in healthcare, with experience working on a General Medical and Vascular Surgery Unit, as well as in a Progressive Care Unit. She has also served as a Charge Nurse and Quality Nurse Specialist. While most of her career has been based in Lincoln, NE, she has spent the past six years in Hastings. Kathy joined SCBS in February 2024. Outside of work, Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, attending her son’s games, and taking trips to Lincoln for shopping.

Jess joined the SCBS team as an RN Care Coordinator in December of 2025. She was born and raised in Southeast Minnesota and moved to Nebraska to attend nursing school. She graduated with her BSN from Bryan College of Health Sciences in 2012 and has worked in a variety of specialties with the most recent being Emergency Department. In addition to nursing, her and her husband own and operate a trucking company, diesel engine repair shop and tow truck company. She is also currently attending DePaul University for her DNP. Outside of work she is a mother of 2 daughters and a black lab. She enjoys spending time watching her girls dance and do gymnastics and she loves being outside soaking up the sun!
