
Brandi Herold, LIMHP
ACT Program Director
Brandi is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and has been working in the mental health field for over twenty years. She was born and raised in Nebraska and attended Hastings College for her under graduate degrees in Psychology, Sociology and Criminal Justice. She then went on to the University of Nebraska at Kearney for her Masters Program. Brandi was the Adolescent Program Director at Great Plains Healthcare in North Platte, NE for six years before returning home to Hastings in 2005. For the next thirteen years she was employed by Mary Lanning Healthcare on the acute psychiatric unit before she joined the South Central Behavioral Services team. She joins spending time with her family, traveling and sporting events.

Paige Chesley, PLMHP, PCMSW
ACT Therapist
Paige is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and Clinical Social Worker and has been working in the mental health field for about seven years. She was born and raised in Nebraska and attended Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ for her undergraduate, Bachelor of Science in Counseling with an Emphasis in Addiction, Chemical Dependency, and Substance Use. She then went on to the University of Nebraska at Omaha for her Masters of Social Work. Paige began her mental health career with Mary Lanning Healthcare’s Behavioral Services Unit as their EPC Psych Case Manager before she joined the South Central Behavioral Services team. She enjoys spending time with her family, decorating, and traveling.

Andrea Rutt
Administrative Assistant
Andrea started employment with SCBS in 1999, working at Opportunity House as a Unit Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. In 2007 when ACT came to SCBS from the Regional Center, Andrea accepted the position at ACT as the Administrative Assistant. Andrea has worked for over 27 years in the mental health field which includes years of on the job training at HRC. Andrea enjoys traveling, cruising to the Caribbean and volunteering at Start Over Rover.

Brant Vodehnal
Mental Health Worker
Brant started worked for SCBS in 2000. He has worked in Community Support, Residential Psych Rehab., Emergency Community Support, and now works on the ACT team. Brant has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. He is also an instructor for Non Violent Crisis Intervention for the agency.

Teri Machnicki
Mental Health Worker
Teri began working for SCBS in 2007. She is the Vocational Specialist on the Assertive Community Treatment Team. Teri has over 30 years of experience working in the mental health field. Teri has been trained in Supported Employment, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, CBT and Rentwise. Teri has lived most of her life in the Hastings Area.

Jamie Ellis
Mental Health Worker
Jamie moved to Hastings Nebraska in Nov. 2006. She has always had a passion for helping others. She got her CNA and worked in a local nursing home until she took a position working at Mary Lanning’s Behavioral Service Unit where she was employed for 8 years. Although working on the Behavioral Service Unit was very fulfilling, Jamie wanted to use her experience and expertise helping clients and their families within the community. In November 2020 Jamie began working at Opportunity House through South Central Behavioral Services. In April 2021 she made the transition to join the ACT program and now assists clients in the community as a Mental Health Worker. Jamie enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Dave Sorensen
Peer Support Specialist
Dave began working at South Central Behavioral Services in January of 2011. Dave is a Certified Peer Support and Wellness Specialist for the ACT team. He has his AA degree in Human Services and has a Medication Aid Certification. David is a certified WRAP facilitator and facilitates WRAP at the office. Also facilitates WHAM and a Men’s Group with the ACT team.

Cynthia Dennis, RN
Registered Nurse
Cindy began working as an RN for SCBS in 2016. She has been a psychiatric RN for 24 years. She has her Master’s from Southwestern in Fort Worth, TX, her BSN from William Jewell College in MO, and her BA in Sociology from ETBU in TX. She has had training in CBT and progressive muscle relaxation, breathing techniques, MI, music therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and other EPB with psychiatric nursing interventions that promote wellness. Cindy is originally from coastal Texas, but has lived in TX, OK, MO, Illinois, and England. She has lived in NE since 2016.

Danielle Berman, RN
Registered Nurse
Danielle graduated from Central Community College with her Associate Degree in Nursing and began working at CHI Health St. Francis in the Intensive Care Unit, where she worked for 6 years. She then attended Doane College to pursue her bachelor’s degree in nursing. While working at CHI St. Francis she became certified in Critical Care, Cardiac Medicine and Infusions. After leaving the acute care setting, Danielle worked briefly for the Department of Health and Human Services at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Hastings, NE. Danielle started working with ACT in August 2022. She recently went on to graduate school to obtain her master’s degree in nursing at Clarkson College with hopes of becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
